  1. Welcome to the 2014 Edition of the CTIUG Faire disk.
  2.  
  3. BETORI & CARTRIDGE MANIPULATOR:
  4.  These two folders have TI cartridges and the Manipulator programs.
  5.  
  6. DIMENSIONS SERIES LINKS:
  7.  Internet links to the "Dimensions" video series that was on the
  8. 2008 Chicago Faire disk.  
  9.  
  10. HFE-HXC FLOPPY EMULATOR:
  11.  The PC program for converting .dsk to .hfe format.
  12.  Also does other conversions.
  13.  
  14. LIBRARIES: 
  15.  These are Libraries of many disks,such as:
  16. the ALTMAN fairware library (221)
  17. the BCS library (111 files)
  18. the DGC library (49 files)
  19. MODULES (26 files)
  20. the PLATO library(467 files)
  21. TI DISKS (81 files)
  22. and the TIGERCUB library (519 files!)
  23.  All have the prefix "lib" to identify them as such, 
  24.  and are in .dsk format.

  26. NUCLEAR PHYSICS:
  27. A different outlook on Nuclear Physics geometry , called Magic Numbers,
  28. from Blaze Labs, in .PDF format, is included. 
  29.  
  30. TI "DISKS" IN .DSK FORMAT:
  31.  Some of these files were on the 2013 Faire disk, but now have been 
  32. renamed from *.tidisk to *.dsk for use in the CF7+ (and Nano PEB)
  33. and the HXC Floppy Emulator.  These two devices are GREAT for reducing
  34. the number of physical floppies of large collections, and archiving
  35. them on CD/DVD, etc.  These two devices, however, use two entirely 
  36. differnt ways of organizing files on them, one on Compact Flash, the 
  37. other on SD card. In addition, the CF7+ must use the MSW program
  38. "TI99Dir.exe" as the ONLY program that can write to, and read, 
  39. Compact Flash cards for CF7+ use. Any other file manager will say:
  40. "card not formatted". The CF card only has to be formatted once, FAT32,
  41. before use with TI99Dir.
  42.  The HxC Floppy Emulator from Lotharek, for use in the P-Box, must have 
  43. its files converted from *.dsk to *.hfe, with its own MSW program called
  44. "HxCFloppyEmulator.exe".  This is its own proprietary format, not just 
  45. a simple renaming of the suffex, as I found out by experiment.  At least
  46. it can do batch conversions on its own, and any file manager can move
  47. its files. 
  48.  "Ti99Dir" is included, as well as "HxCFloppyEmulator.exe", in their own
  49. folders for you to experiment with.
  50. (NOTE: Both programs work in Linux on Wine)
  51.  All files have been sorted in alphabetacal order into groups of around
  52. 25.  Navigating higher numbers is cumbersome in the HxC, which can,
  53. however, support levels of directories. 
  54.  Only the .dsk files from two collections that have been available online
  55. are on this disk, from the "MESS 130" and the "Various 1376" collections,  
  56. as: "Split MESS 130" and "Split Various 1376", now Split into
  57. alphabetacal order. 
  58.  
  59. "TI Gameshelf" is darn near all the game files available at this site
  60. in *.dsk format, sorted by type and in alphabetacal order.
  61.  
  62. The above collections, already converted to .hfe format, for use with
  63. the SD card Floppy Emulator, are available on a seperate disk.
  64.  
  65.  These will probably keep you busy for a while . . .

  68. VIDEOS:
  69.  The Chaos series is part 2 of the Dimensions math series that was on
  70. the 2009 Faire disk. It takes up the majority of this DVD, 3.7 gig!
  71.  The files are in that newfangled *.mkv format, and have multi-language
  72. subtitles built-in.
  73.  VLC video player for MSW is included in the Chaos folder if your
  74. computer cannot play Matroska Video.
  75.  
  76.  A review of the TI Explorer program, by Craig Miller.  Shows how
  77. to really see the inside workings of the TI.
  78.  
  79.  Finally, I found one of the "missing" YouTube videos showing the 
  80. very rare "Advertizer" cartridge in action.  This cartridge was
  81. included on the 2013 Faire disk, along with all available info.

  83.  Note: Saved YouTube webpages will not play the video!  They are included 
  84. for the information about the video.  Viewers comments, when listed,
  85. are usually informative.

  87. FIBONACCI:
  88.  It wouldn't be a Faire disk without some info about the famed
  89. mathematician's work.  Included is an illustration of the
  90. Fibonacci spiral in .JPG format.
  91.
